Wide-silhouette deck pants based on trousers from the WWI era and featuring large front pockets that straddle the side seams. From last season, we’ve been using a rare twill fabric called “Unsai” weave that can only be produced in Japan and has a very high density and diagonal elasticity that makes it tougher than it actually looks. This material has traditionally been used in Japan for such varied items as the soles of tabi socks, soy sauce strainers, various canvases, and the loincloths, or “mawashi”, worn by sumo wrestlers during training.
